Source & editorial standards
These standards govern what may be published here and in what language. They are stated openly so that any entry on this site can be judged against them.
01
Verification before publication
A statement is published as fact only when it has been checked against an identifiable public source. Unverified material is not published in a softened form; it is not published at all.
02
Attribution to an original
Each factual entry links to the document or publication that records it. Summaries, aggregators and secondary retellings are not accepted in place of the original.
03
Identity matching
A source is used only when it clearly concerns Stefan Ionescu-Balaceanu, and not a similarly named individual. Ambiguous matches are excluded.
04
Neutral language
Entries are written in plain, factual terms without praise, criticism, interpretation or promotional framing. No claim is made about financial, investment or business matters.
05
Third parties named in records
Where a record names another individual — for example, Ashley Wotten, named together with Stefan Ionescu-Balaceanu in public records as plaintiffs or applicants — only the fact of that naming is recorded. Relationships, roles and motives are not inferred.
06
Absence stated plainly
Where no qualifying source exists, the relevant section stays empty and says so. Placeholder, illustrative or invented entries are never published.
07
Corrections
Any entry shown to be inaccurate, or to rest on a source that does not support it, is corrected or removed. Correction requests are handled through the contact page.
08
Review and revision
Entries are re-checked when a linked source changes, moves or is withdrawn. An entry whose source can no longer be reached is marked or removed rather than left standing unsupported.
Applying the standards
Because these standards are applied strictly, much of this resource is currently empty. That is the intended outcome of the method rather than a gap in it: the structure is complete, and entries are added only as qualifying sources are located and reviewed.
